If the hip is not turned just the right angle, you won’t have any weight behind your kick. The hips are the cornerstone of the body, they have to be angled right, or the weight of them won’t go into the kick, and the whole body risks being out of order, out of sorts, and out of commission right in the middle of a mugging! You simply must have the hips committed to the attack, or your attack is going to be weak sister, and I know you know exactly what I mean!
Now, I’ve told you the importance of making sure your kick is done right, and it’s time to tell you how to make a train aid that will change your feet into rocket launchers! Get yourself a big wooden crate, the kind with thick boards, the kind that can take being dropped by a crane onto a pier and come out laughing. Now, double layer it, nail on some more boards so it is double thick, and can take double the whomping!
Put a car in the crate, or at least a motor or axle or something. Or fill that puppy with dirt, line it with plastic first, then pile in the dirt. Now you’ve got something that weighs more than one of those sissy bags…you’ve got something that weighs even more than one of those bullies you’re about to make a sissy crybaby out of, you’ve got yourself a real mofo, kicking bag.
Now, kick it in the center, and make it move, make it jump, make it dance like a little girl doing the hula. Kick that sucker until it slides across the ground faster than a drag racer getting the green light. Kick it until you’re legs are stronger than telephone poles, and that’s how you end up with powerful kicks that can knock a bully so far into next next week that he needs a calender to know what time it is.

Fundamental Errors With The Back Stance (Kokutsu Dachi) In Shotokan Karate

A good karate stance should be a perfect blend between mobility and solidity. Mobiity is when one can launch their body quickly in one direction. Solidity is when one can grip the ground with their feet and become virtually immoveable.
In the Shotokan kokutsu dachi stance, however, the balance between mobile and solid has been compromised. If you study the legs you will see that they are angling in directions that are more than 90 degrees apart. This means the stance can’t decide whether it is supposed to be mobile or solid.
If the rear foot is facing away from the target the thrusting muscles are not pointing towards the target. The foot being incorrectly positioned means that there is not going to be enough traction when one pushes off. The leg being pointed in the wrong direction means that the major thrusting muscles of the leg aren’t in a position for maximum push.
in addition, the hips won’t be properly angled, and when one pushes with the leg there will be an ‘energy leak,’ in the structure. That is to say that the hips will not want to support the energy of the push. This can be severe enough to weaken the back, and even (in extreme cases) lead to damage to the lower spine.
To fix this the footwork all one needs to do is turn the rear foot to about 45 degrees or less towards the direction of the push. This will position the foot for proper traction, and set up the major muscles for the launch of the body. Of course, this is going to alter the essential nature of the stance.
Thus, when you turn the foot to the proper angle, you are going to have to figure out the better angle of the hips, and put the weight more on the rear leg. Doing this will prepare the body for maximum launch, but shotokan instructors will usually not like this alignment of the body for a simple reason: it lacks the sensation of shotokan power. But this merely proves that the system has been corrupted for sake and sensation of power, and not for the balance between gripping the ground and launching the body.
To deal with this, Shotokan masters have made the style specific to rely on overly aggressive front stances. What they have done is okay, but only in special situations, and the proof is in the fact that the back stance is more for holding the ground than for launching the body. Thus, there is a decision to be made, do what you are told in Shotokan Karate classes, or other classical martial arts styles, or estimate the validity of the physics I have presented here and change your stance to match these physics.

The Six Degrees Of Insanity Discovered Through Real Karate!

There was a goju ryu karate club in my town when I grew up, but knowing about something didn’t save me from the chaos of school. I was treated to the teacher father figures, bullying classmates, and an education that didn’t relate to the world. So I needed Goju, or something like it, but didn’t know it.
As school progressed people began discovering drugs. Man, a good fighting discipline really would have worked to protect me from people going unconscious and crazy, which is what pills do to you. A good karate club would have enabled me to retain dignity and integrity at a time when I needed it the most.
Eventually, society turned to the Viet Nam War, and this war had to be the craziest thing in the world. The bumper sticker used to read, ‘Travel to strange, exotic lands, meet wonderful people, and kill them.’ Fortunately, at about that time I was rescued from this chaos…I happened across the Ed Parker Chinese American kenpo karate system.
I worked out ruthlessly, doing karate kumite and practicing my kenpo moves by the hour, but, eventually, I was to be disillusioned by the martial arts techniques I was learning. I was learning hundreds of fighting techniques and all the variations, but they didn’t have to much to do with the real world. Kenpo, though it was wonderful, was based on combat fantasy scenarios that didn’t always happen.
I went to the Kang Duk Won for my next step in evolution towards a rational world, and it was to prove a blessing. Here the discipline was rigorous and encompassing, and the energy we created was all consuming. I learned that all my sweat and bruises could be focused on one factor: the handling of the incoming fist.
One, single incoming missile, and I had to handle it, but that one incoming missile represented all the rage and anger and chaos of the world. Thus, in handling the fist, I was handling the rage and anger and chaos of a civilization that believed in war and drugs and lies. As I understood this I began to develop my own science, and my martial arts progress began to sky rocket.
Through this science of Matrixing I ordered all my martial arts techniques, put them in a logical arrangement so that they represented a whole science, and not an out of sequence something. The art became a science, and through the combative sciences I made my final break with the gods of insanity, So for me there were six degrees of insanity: school, drugs, war, kenpo, classical karate, and matrixing…and this is the path I chose, this is the path I discovered when I discovered Real Karate.

Win Every Contest With The Only Three Techniques Of Kickboxing Karate

If you are going to try to use this information with the feet we would have to set up an art called karate tae kwon do…grin. Or, if you were going to use it with fancy trapping manuevers we might call it shaolin kickboxing. Call it anything you want, the techniques will work, but you might have to make some changes.
Before we get into the techniques I should tell you how to set them up. You want to stand with the hands extended, elbows about 135 degrees, palms facing outward, so that the hands are in front of the shoulders. This, incidentally, is an ‘I don’t want to fight’ sign, which is a good thing because it is better to avoid a fight.
The basic principle here is that two objects can’t occupy the same place in space. Go on, shove one chair through another chair. You’ll just end up with kindling.
First Technique, he is going to have to go around your mitts, and you can execute a hard block and punch. This isn’t even a counter, this is done simultaneous with a slight body shift/sidestep movement. You will have taken the initiative and can follow up with an attack on the inside.
Second technique, he is going to try shifting to the front and jabbing, and you can just pass him and pound on his body. With these two techniques he is trying to go around you, and this will set him up by shutting his weapons down, or opening his targets up. A little practice and you will be able to tell which way he is going.
Third technique, and this is the one we want to really go for, is when he tries to go between your hands. He can be stopped easily, and, the potential for trapping him, simply by bringing your hands together, is large. You push his elbow and his wrist and develop an arm bar, and when he tries to back out, or otherwise escape, you elbow roll him, and you can work elbow spikes and secondary punches, all while keeping him trapped and unable to fight back.
This freestyle technique can further be enhanced by shifting the body or changing the distance between the hands, thus encouraging your attacker to do exactly what you want. In other words, you will make him totally predictable, and nobody is easier to beat than a fighter who is totally and utterly predictable. So, there you go, that is how you actually matrix the initial entry into a fight, and when you win that fight just tell everybody you were doing kickboxing karate…heh.

The Truth About The Karate Shout!

First, practice of Karate yells is real, and included in most karate forms in existence. The karate yell (hihap, or ki Hap, in Korean) is taught to the beginning student to help focus the movements of the karate kata into precise moments of time. This increases the mental abilities, and eventually causes the student to move slightly out of his body.
Don’t get freaky with me on this. To be removed form the body means merely to assume a slightly different viewpoint of the body, to have the spiritual ‘I am’ that runs the body maybe a few inches above or back of the body. It is a gentle thing that happens to everybody as they live, but can be encouraged to greater degree, with a variety of effects, through the study of the martial arts.
Now, the body is not shouting, the spirit is shouting. As I said, the ‘I am’ that operates the body is shouting, and the body seems to actually get out of the way of the spirit shout. A shout directed by spirit and not body is infinitely more powerful than a shout powered by just the body.
With a shout by the body all that moves is the air. When the spirit is involved emotion will move, and not just massed air molecules, and this can be testified to by any good artist who knows the value of emotion when performing. Eventually, a martial artist will move intention, which is far above simple air, or even emotion, this is the stuff of legends and great abilities.
Thus far we have been examining kiai from the perspective of the ‘I am’ which runs the body, but now we must discuss the effects of a spirit shout on another person. Yes, there is impact by waves of massed air particles, which can extinguish candles and that sort of thing, but usually only at short distances. These usually depend on body movement, a strike of the fist, for example to help shift the mass of air to the target.
But there is also the fact that a being can grow his size, when outside his body, and actually touch the body of another human being, and this is a direct touch that can wither and blast an attacker. The body is made up of liquid, and air is molecules, but spirit is intangible. Spirit is a perception of reality from beyond reality that can stretch through the apparent space filled by air particles and cause that liquid to wave, to ripple, to vibrate…to shatter.
I know there will be people who scoff at what I have said here, but they are people who have not done the martial arts for over forty years. The fact is that the martial arts don’t just forge the body, they cause a person to realize who is doing the forging,–oneself–and therefore to assume a removed viewpoint from the body. In summation, the martial arts take long years and intense effort to reach the stage I am talking about, but if you understand what I am saying here, and are willing to dedicate yourself to endless practice and a higher ethic of life, then you can achieve the Karate ki-ai of which I am speaking.

Knock An Elephant On His Butt With Good Martial Arts Kicks!

Now, to leap right into it, it’s okay to practice the high and fancy kicks, they will give you flexibility, and that increase your power. However, when it comes to defense on the street, you want to stay with the basic kicks that are too low and fast to grab. You want concentrate on with the front snap kick, the side thrust, the wheel (a snap on the side), and a spinning (hopping/popping) side to the rear.
Inspect your kick, make sure that the bones are aligned. Stand on the part of the foot that you are kicking with to make sure it can support weight. You can stand on the ball of the foot, so the front snap kick is going to work, but you can’t stand on a side of the foot comfortably, so it is not going to work.
When you execute a kick, make sure you raise the knee high and tilt the hips into the kick slightly. Raising the knee high helps you to drive the leg straight in on the target, if you don’t have a high knee the foot may slide up against the side of the target. Tilting the hips, a specialty of shotokan karate kicks, puts more body weight into the kick.
Practice kicking over a chair, and make sure that you aren’t twisting any body parts, which wil de-stablize the leg. Also, keep the tan tien centered over the foot you are balancing on, this will help you keep your balance intact. Also, especially when doing Taekwondo kicks, don’t straighten the leg you are standing on, rather bend it and lower yourself slightly, as this will connect you better to the ground.
Now, you can wear karate shoes to do your kicks, but don’t forget to practice bare foot kicking. If you’re in the wilderness, and your feet need protection, or perhaps you want to be ready for a situation where you can’t get your shoes off, then use shoes. But the feeling of barefoot kicking gives you mental feedback as to the exact perfect way to use your feet.
Now, most important of all, practice until you are ready to drop. Most people think that they can go to class, do ten or twenty kicks per foot, and they will be masters of the foot arts. You need to do hundreds of kicks, thousands of kicks, for each kick, for each foot, and for hundreds of days, if you want to be good.
The kick is a great weapon. It can keep people back and out of range, set up secondary techniques, and, if you have Bruce Lee kicks, end a fight before it even gets started. Guaranteed, you do what I have told you here, and your good martial arts kicks will be making elephant burgers out of those pesky pachyderms!

The Creation And Use Of Martial Arts Chi Power Through The Circular Flux Of Energy

Look, let me set things up a little better for this piece. The body is a machine, north and south terminals, and the ability to turn energy within it, and this is the chi phenomena. Unfortunately, there is so much mystical bushwah, and people are locked into certain ways of thought concerning their bodies, that they miss this simplicity.
This idea, though misunderstood, is spread throughout the martial arts, and accounts for a variety of other occurrences, too. In karate chi development depends upon sinking a strong stance–you must bolt the motor down, you know–and analyze how to use circular motion in the snap of the hips, the turn of the wrist, and so on. The problem is that people keep insisting that Karate is a linear martial art when it isn’t.
Karate is linear like a cam; a cam is a rotating part which slides a linear extension in a machine. In karate the hips rotate and drive the arm, which, because the elbow, is not truly linear anyway, creates a complex of turning, rotating, spinning parts to make a punch (or block or kick or whatever) with. Look at an illustration of a cam and see how it resembles an arm or leg.
This concept of straight lines being delivered through circular motion becomes more obvious through kung fu chi based systems. Classic shaolin kung fu has leaps and whirls and lock onto the earth which perfectly detail the concept. Unfortunately, the basics in kung fu aren’t comprehensive and basic enough to raise but a rare person to a high level, and Karate doesn’t develop itself as a circular methodology…the love of power (as false as it is) corrupts, you know.
The easiest art to see this circular flux of energy as the manifestation of proper machine theory is Tai Chi. Unfortunately, people have latched on to doing Tai Chi for the health and sensation reasoning, and people end up asking is Tai Chi a martial art, and missing the point of reality that is necessary to a proper martial art, and which changes a martial art into a machine based energy flux creator. I know, it sounds significant, but I am just trying to get my point across with enough specific verbiage.
Now, the best system for power internal martial arts style, is pa kua chang. The whole darn thing is an energy flux, though one must realize that the purpose of walking the circle is to ground your each and every step, and to keep the machine functioning even while in motion. Get that notion, and even the confusions of pa kua chang should resolve fairly easily.
Okay, that’s the skinny, Minny…you sink the weight and fix the body/machine and swirl the energy inside the body, much the same as you would swirl water inside a container. This has been done in virtually every martial art that has ever existed, though it has been made mystical and confusing. It really isn’t difficult, however, though if you really want to understand the notion of martial arts chi power you need to matrix your art, and matrix your body, then the stuff happens naturally and without much thought.
